Activating components / functions, part 1

Relay front fog lamp, Activated

Note! On vehicles equipped with the function for running lights, the relay supplies the front fog lights instead of the running lights.

Activation of the front fog lamp relay.
This activation is used to light the front fog lamp.

Relay front fog lamp, Not activated

Note! On vehicles equipped with the function for running lights, the relay supplies the front fog lights instead of the running lights.

Deactivation of the front fog lamp relay.
This activation is used to extinguish the front fog lamp.

Relay high beam, Activated
Activation of the high beam relay.
This activation is used to light the high beam.

Relay high beam, Not activated
Deactivation of the high beam relay.
This activation is used to extinguish the high beam.

Relay washer motor front, Activated
Activation of the front washer motor relay.
This activation is used to start the washer motor for cleaning the front windshield.

Relay washer motor front, Not activated
Deactivation of the front washer motor relay.
This activation is used to stop the washer motor for cleaning the front windshield.

Rear washer motor relay, Activated
Only 5-door cars.
This activation is used to start the washer motor for cleaning the rear windshield.
Activation of the rear washer motor relay. If this function is activated on 4-door models, the front washer motor relay is activated in some cases.

Rear washer motor relay, Not activated
Deactivation of the rear washer motor relay.
This activation is used to stop the washer motor for cleaning the rear windshield.

Relay, headlamp wash / wipe, Activated
Activating relay, headlamp wash / wipe.
This activation is used to start the washer motor for the headlamp wash / wipe.

Relay, headlamp wash / wipe, Not activated
Deactivating relay, headlamp wash / wipe.
This activation is used to stop the washer motor for the headlamp wash / wipe.

Activating components / functions, part 2

Interior lighting, 100%
Activating interior lighting.
This activation is used to light all interior lighting lamps.

Hint: In order for the activation to work, the light switch on the roof console must be in auto position

The interior lighting comprises the following lamps
- Front interior lighting
- Rear interior lighting
- Lighting glove compartment
- Courtesy lighting left
- Courtesy lighting right

Interior lighting, Not activated
Deactivating interior lighting.
This activation is used to extinguish all interior lighting lamps.

Extended X-supply, Activated
Activating the extended X-supply.
This activation is used to activate the relay for extended X-supply.

Hint: This relay is normally activated in key positions I and II.

The following components are powered via the relay for extended X-supply.
- Power socket in passenger compartment
- Seat heater front
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS)
- All damper motors in climate control module (CCM)
- Steering wheel module (SWM)
- Rain sensor module (RSM)

Extended X-supply, Not activated
Deactivating the extended X-supply.
This activation is used to deactivate the relay for extended X-supply.

Note! Note that deactivation of this relay means that a number of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will be stored in the car. Various functions, such as the windscreen wipers and the climate control module (CCM) will stop working or will behave incorrectly.

Relay, infotainment, Activated
Activating the infotainment relay.
This activation is used to activate the relay for infotainment.

Hint: This relay is normally activated in key positions I and II.

This relay supplies power to the entire infotainment system.

Relay, infotainment, Not activated
Deactivating the infotainment relay.
This activation is used to deactivate the relay for infotainment.

Note! Note that deactivation of this relay means that a number of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) will be stored in the car.

Unlocking fuel filler flap, Activated
This activation is used to unlock the fuel filler flap.

Unlocking liftgate, Activated
This activation is used to unlock the liftgate.

Unlocking liftgate, Not activated
This activation is used to lock the liftgate.

Automatic start/stop of engine

(only on vehicles with the function Automatic start/stop of engine).

Secondary Battery Relay
Request regarding the activation of the secondary battery relay to the Engine control module (ECM). Activation can be requested with the ignition on, but only carried out when the engine has been started. When the relay is activated and the engine is running (alternator charges), the secondary battery charges. The secondary battery's voltage will then vary depending on whether the relay has been activated or not.
