Cable harness kit for towbar, 13-pin




- Remove the screw from the left-hand panel in the rear seat.
- Carefully pull the panel from the body side and unhook it from the sill panel at the front edge. It is secured by eleven clips on the inside.





- Pull off the rubber molding on the left-hand side in the cargo compartment opening.





- Remove the clips at the rear edge of the left-hand rear side panel.
- Carefully pull the side panel off, starting at the front edge/upper edge and then straight back until all clips at the top edge have released.
- Fold the panel inwards. Release it from the anchorage eyelets and lift it out of the load floor support.
- Repeat steps 13-20 on the right-hand side.










- Lift up the load floor support and slide it forwards in the cargo compartment.





- Install the edge trim on the right-hand side, in the hole in front of the rubber grommet.





- Remove the rubber grommet in the body under the trunk lid-opening's lower right-hand corner.





- Cut the top off the left rubber nipple on the rubber grommet.





- Disconnect the cable from the fuse holder.





- Take the trailer connector with cable harness, screws and nuts from the kit.
- Tighten the trailer connector with cable harness to the bracket on the left-hand side of the towbar with the screws and nuts.
- Pull the cable in front of the lower and behind the upper screw/spacer sleeve to the hook mounting (Small image), and pull it up on the front of the collision member.





- Thread the cable into the rubber grommet.
- Adjust the cable's length between the rubber grommet and up to the wiring's connector and press the rubber grommet into place.





- Route the cable along the right-hand inside of the right-hand buckle and up to the underneath of the bracket. Clamp it using tie straps at the existing holes in the bracket and in the buckle.





- Pull the cable harness from the towbar.
- Connect the ground lead to the existing ground terminal.
- Tighten the screw. Tighten to 10 Nm (7.5 lbf.ft.).
- Secure the cable at the existing cable harness using a tie strap.





- Take the connector. Depress the catches and pull out the connector's lock.





- Take the connector and install the cable ends as follows:





- Press back the connector's catch.





- Connect the cable to the fuse holder.





- Connect the large connector to the cable harness for the trailer module (TRM).
- Disconnect the gray, two-pin connector from the trailer module (TRM).
- Connect the gray, two pin connector (1) which was removed from the trailer module (TRM) to the corresponding connector (2) on the routed cable harness.
- Connect the remaining gray, two-pin connector (3) to the trailer module (TRM)





- Take the strap with the clip, place this on the fuse holder and secure.





- Press the fuse holder on the edge of the plate by the opening to the right rear light, so that it is accessible when the panels have been fitted.
- Secure the loose cables.





- Checking the 13 pin connector.

Note! The trailer module (TRM) must be programmed with software in order to function correctly.





Finishing work

- Replace broken clips.
- Press the panel into place and ensure that all clips engage.

Note! There are eleven clips on the rear of the panel that secure to the body. Take care not to snap the clips when aligning.

- Tighten the panel using existing screws.

- The image shows the location of the clips on the rear of the panel.





- Twist off the black plastic clip on the inside at the front edge using a screwdriver. Replace the clip with a new one and reinstall the B post panel.










- Reinstall the backrest. Check that it is securely in its mountings.





- Secure the backrest in the left-hand mounting with the screw and lock pin.
- Tighten the backrest and check that it is securely in its mountings. Torque tighten the screw to 15 Nm (11 lbf.ft.).










- Repeat steps 40-48 on the other side.





- Reinstall the central arm rest by grasping each end, moving it up towards the backrest lugs (1) and aligning the holders (2) in the backrest's sides in the central arm rest's cut-out (3).
- Then press the central arm rest down at the rear edge so that the lugs (1) engage in the cut-out (4). A click should be heard when the central arm rest is secured.
