Checking Microphone
Checking the microphone
Fault-tracing information
Fault causes which will stop the microphone working:
- Damaged microphone
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable between the microphone and the audio module (AUD)
- Damaged audio module (AUD)
- Problems with the MOST network.
Hint: Check that the MOST network is working before beginning fault-tracing.
Note! Check that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored in the audio module (AUD) or the infotainment control module (ICM) and that other tests have been completed before fault-tracing.
Have all tests been completed and no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored?
Yes - Checking the cable
No - DONE

Checking the cable
- Ignition off
- Disconnect the connector for the microphone.
Check the cable terminals. Check for contact resistance and oxidation. Check the female and male sections of the connector. The cable terminals must not be damaged or pressed back.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B8 and microphone terminal #A2 (pin B). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the signal cable between audio module (AUD) terminal #B16 and microphone terminal #A1 (pin A). Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Remedy as necessary.
