USB/iPod Music Player, Bluetooth handsfree

Note! In cases where the area is heavily soiled or treated with cockpit shine, first clean using a washing up detergent.

- Remove the backing tape from one side of the Velcro strip and press it onto the microphone.





- Remove the remaining backing tape from the Velcro strip and press the microphone securely onto the ceiling panel as illustrated.

Note! Direct the microphone towards the driver.

- Feed in any cable excess.





- Route the cable to the A-pillar and onwards to the glove compartment.
- Take three small tie straps from the kit and secure the cable at the A-pillar as illustrated.
- Refit the sun visor mountings.
- Reinstall the A pillar panel and weatherstrip.

Installing the control panel





- Clean the area on the centre console as illustrated, which corresponds to the size of the double-sided adhesive tape. Use a solution of 25% isopropanol and 75% water, as well as a lint free cloth.
Dry with care, do not rub.
- Allow to dry.

Note! In cases where the area is heavily soiled or treated with cockpit shine. First clean using a washing up detergent (FAIRY or similar).

- Place the control panel cable in the groove as illustrated.

- Remove the protective film from the tape and secure the control panel edge to edge against the climate panel and according to the dimensions illustrated.





- Press the cable securely into the compartment that is in the joint between the front and rear side of the center console. Stop level with the lower edge of the display opening.





- Route the cable from the control panel on the right-hand side of the centre console.





- Reinstall the tunnel console, but do not slide it forward so far that it covers the rear screw holes for the centre console's panel.
- Plug in the connectors at the leading edge.

Note! Protect the hand brake and gear shift when fitting the tunnel console.





- Install the centre console, connect the green connector and fit the screws, two at the top and two on the rear edge.

Applies to cars with manual gearbox
- Install the gear selector boot in the center console starting at the rear edge.





- slide the tunnel console forward so that the locking lug secures it. At the same time, guide in the floor carpet on the left-hand side.

Reinstall:
- the two screws at the front edge of the tunnel console.
- the panel at the parking brake.





- Reinstall the screws





- File a slot at the rear of the storage compartment's bottom cover for the USB/iPod cable in the position as shown.





- Place the USB/iPod cable in the bottom cover's slot and pres it into place.






Reinstall:
- the ignition control module (ICM) with the connectors, screws and frame.
- front storage compartment inside of the center console.

Installing the control module





- Take the cable harness and control module from the kit. Connect the cable harness to the control module (1).
- Lock the catch (2).





- Get a thick foam tape from the kit and fasten it on the front of the control module. Fold up the foam tape around the corners and edges of the control module.





- Get three small pieces of foam tape from the kit and fasten these on the back of the control module.





- Detach the front sill molding by first pulling it backwards at the front edge and then straight up so that the clips release.





- Unscrew the clips holding the floor carpet.
- Fold aside the floor mat to access the bulkhead panel inside.

Note! Take care not to create folds in the carpet.





- Place the control module with the thick foam tape forward, against the bulkhead.





- Fold aside the cable harnesses (1) so that they do not end up between the control module and floor mat.
- Route the control module's cable harness under the cable harnesses (2) and on toward the tunnel console.
- Fold back the carpet.





- Connect the connectors for the Bluetooth system as illustrated:

Applies to cars with internal amplifier
1. 1. Connect cable harness A to the cable from the control module.

Applies to cars with external amplifier
1. 1. Connect cable harness B to the cable from the control module.

Applies to all models
1. 2. Connect the microphone
2. 3. Connect the control panel
- Take one of the cut pieces of foam tape and tape around the connectors.





- Place the connectors and the excess wiring inside the center console.
- Fold back the carpet.





- Take two large tie straps from the kit and secure the cable from the microphone on top of the collision pipe.

Applies to cars with external amplifier
- Also secure the cable harness B, that is to be later routed back to the external amplifier.

Steps 78-103 apply to cars with external amplifier





- Detach the rear sill molding by first pulling it up at the front edge, and then unhooking it at the rear edge.





- Pull off the seat cushion for the rear seat, first at the rear edge where it is secured by one holder. Then at the front edge where it is secured by two holders.
- Remove the seat cushion.





- Fold the central arm rest forward.
- Remove the central arm rest by grasping each end and pulling upwards until it releases at the rear edge from the backrest's lugs (1).
- Then pull forwards until the holders (2) on the sides of the backrest have slid out of the corresponding cut-out (3) in the central arm rest.





- Fold the backrest forward.
- Remove the cover for the backrest's right-hand mounting.

Applies to right-hand drive cars
- Steps 81-90 must not be mirrored.





- Remove the screw and the locking sleeve.





- Fold out the backrest from the right-hand mounting. This can require great force.
- Pull it out from the mounting at the arm rest and remove it.





- Pull off the rubber molding at the rear edge of the right-hand door opening.





- Detach the B pillar panel at the rear edge by prying the sides using a weatherstrip tool until the two clips release.





- Cut off the strap on the safety clip.
- Angle out the panel at the lower edge, and then unhook it at the upper edge so that the upper clip releases.





- Remove the screw from the right-hand panel in the rear seat.
- Carefully pull off the panel from the body side. It is secured by eleven clips on the inside.





- Disconnect the connector to the loudspeaker.
- Detach the clip for the cable harness.






Remove:
- the screw.
- the five nuts.
- the loudspeaker unit.





- Lift the unit straight out so that the bracket releases from the studs (1).
- Slide the unit forwards slightly (2), angle out the rear edge (3) and lift out.






Applies to left-hand drive cars
- Route cable harness (B) from the lower edge of the A pillar, continue under the floor carpet and under the seat support.






Applies to right-hand drive cars
- Route cable harness (B) from the lower edge of the A pillar, continue under the floor carpet and behind the large side panel.






Applies to right-hand drive cars
- Route the cable harness under the floor's insulation panel over to the right-hand side.





- Take the relay and 2 thick pieces of foam tape from the kit.
- Connect the pre-routed cable harness B and cable harness C to the relay.
- Fit 2 pieces of tape around the relay.





- Detach the large green connector from the amplifier.

Note! The location of the connector differs depending on the type of amplifier in the car.





- Connect the green connector (1) from cable harness C, to the corresponding socket in the amplifier.
- Connect the green connector (2) from cable harness C, to the green connector (3) that was disconnected from the amplifier.
- Take one of the cut pieces of foam tape and tape around connectors (2) and (3).





- Install the relay to the amplifier using a large tie strap (1) in the other hole from underneath.
- Secure the cable harness from the relay in the vehicle's ordinary cable harness using a small tie strap (2).
- Reinstall the bracket with the amplifier.





- Route the cable harness from the relay by the vehicle's ordinary cable harness.
- Reinstall the loudspeaker unit and connect the connector.





- Place the excess cable harness under the floor's insulation panel.





- Reinstall the panel and ensure that all clips engage.

Note! There are eleven clips on the reverse of the panel that must engage in the body. Take care when aligning so that the clips do not break. Broken clips must be replaced with new ones.

- Tighten the panel using existing screws.





- The image shows the location of the clips on the rear of the panel.





- Remove the two parts of the cut-off safety clip.
- Take a new safety clip (D) from the kit, depress it and install it on the B pillar panel.
- Reinstall the panel and weatherstrip.






Reinstall:
- the rear sill trim panel, the two guides must align with the corresponding cut-outs in the side panel.
- fold back the carpet.
- the front sill trim panel.
- backrest. Torque tighten the screw to 15 Nm (11 lbf.ft.)
- the armrest.
- the seat cushion.





- Reinstall the connectors to the rear section of the glove box. Note the color marking on the cable for the right-hand connector.

Reinstall:






Dashboard
- the lower vent.
- the sound proofing.
- the rear section of the glovebox by guiding it in diagonally inside the center console. Then straight forward. The rear section must be positioned on the outside of the remaining inner section.
- the clip for the vent on the glovebox.
- the panel on the dashboard end face.
- Remove the tape.
- the panel within the centre console. Check that the cable to the control panel is not pinched.





- Download software (application) for the accessory's function





- Set the ignition key to position I.
- Turn on the radio.
- Check that the control panel for Bluetooth lights up.
- Press the button (1) in the middle of the control panel. The radio should mute and a voice should be heard.
- Press the button (2). The voice should now stop and the audio from the radio returns.
