DESCRIPTION: Customers may report a DIM (Driver information module) message "alarm system service required" in combination with possible false alarms and central locking problems. This could be caused by water intrusion into the siren connector.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION: The siren module has been slightly moved in the siren console, to stop water ingress to the connector. A new connector, P/N 30658218, on the harness has been introduced during Q1 2009, as a reinforced containment.

NOTE:
From structure week 2010w24 there is a new siren and siren bracket introduced into production.

SERVICE: If you receive a vehicle with "alarm system service required" and any of the DTC's above. Fault trace according to Vida - Check SCM (Siren Control Module) communication. Read out the part number for SCM according to VIDA at CEM DD1B fault tracing. If you have no communication or the number in VIDA is shown as "0000000000[ascii][ascii][ascii]" Replace the siren with the appropriate P/N in VIDA along with the connector and it's terminals.
