Alarm, basic kit
INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.
Alarm, basic kit
Note! This accessory is connected to the car's electrical system. It requires software unique to the car.
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.

- Remove the windshield wipers.
- Remove the four clips (1) in the panel over the wiper motor.
- Rotate the two clips (2) 90° towards each other.
Applies to left-hand drive cars
- Detach the panel over the wiper motor on the right side and pull it up from the right wiper shaft.
- Pull the panel up from the left-hand wiper shaft.
Note! The panel has little space on the left-hand side. Pull carefully so that the clips on the underneath/rear edge do not break.
- Remove the panel carefully. Pull it up at the front edge and then pull it forwards.
Applies to right-hand drive cars
- Detach the panel over the wiper motor on the left hand side and pull it up from the left wiper shaft.
- Pull the panel up from the right-hand wiper shaft.
Note! The panel has little space on the right-hand side. Pull carefully so that the clips on the underneath/rear edge do not break.
- Remove the panel carefully. Pull it up at the front edge and then pull it forwards.

- Take two nuts from the kit and install the alarm siren at the windshield's leading edge. The alarm siren should be installed on the right side for left-hand drive cars, and on the left side for right-hand drive cars.
- Slide the alarm siren as far as possible in the bracket's groove. On right-hand drive cars it should be slid to the right, and on left-hand drive cars to the left.
- Torque-tighten the nuts with 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft.).
- Plug in the pre-wired connector to the alarm siren.
- Reinstall the panel above the wiper motor.
- Reinstall the windscreen wipers and set them in the correct position.
- Remove the five clips (1) by pressing in their centre and pull.
- Remove the two screws (2).
- Remove the five screws securing the bumper casing and air baffle at the wheel housing's leading edge, on right and left sides.

- Carefully remove the cover for the nozzle for the headlights' high-pressure washer, and pull it out until its lock catch is accessible, on right and left side.

- Press up the catches and remove the covers. Do not damage the painted surfaces or the high-pressure washer nozzles.
- Detach the ends of the bumper casing on the left and right sides, by grabbing the end of the bumper casing inside the wing liner. Pull carefully so that the two catches on the inside release.
- Remove the bumper casing with air baffle, by pulling them forward until the remaining catch under the lights release.
- Disconnect the connectors for the fog lamps if applicable.
- Remove the two screws in the intake manifold.
- Remove the intake manifold.
- Remove the two screws for the panel over the bonnet catch.
- Remove the panel. Lift it up at the rear edge and then pull it backwards.
- Pull loose the wire sleeve and the wire from the mounting in the hood lock.
- Remove the bonnet catch screws
- Remove the bonnet catch.
- Unplug the pre-routed connector from the parking module in the bonnet catch by pressing in the catch and pulling.
- Place the bonnet catch to one side, it shall not be used again.
- Take the new bonnet catch from the kit and secure it with the existing screws.
- Torque tighten the screws to 24 Nm (18 lbf.ft.).
- Plug the bonnet catch's connector (1) into the pre-routed connector (2).
- Secure the wire and the sleeve in the new bonnet catch.
- Reinstall the panel above the bonnet catch.
- Reinstall the intake manifold.
- Reinstall the bumper cover using the five clips and the two screws in the upper edge.
- Reconnect the connectors for the fog lamps if applicable.
- Make sure that the air baffle ends up correctly in its mounting.
- Press the end faces for the bumper cover into the body and reinstall the five screws at the front edge of the wheel housing (on the right and left-hand sides).
- Programme the software in accordance with the service information in VIDA.
