Procedures












Alarm, movement sensor































INTRODUCTION
- Read through all of the instructions before starting installation.
- Notifications and warning texts are for your safety and to minimize the risk of something breaking during installation.
- Ensure that all tools stated in the instructions are available before starting installation.
- Certain steps in the instructions are only presented in the form of images. Explanatory text is also given for more complicated steps.
- In the event of any problems with the instructions or the accessory, contact your local Volvo dealer.






Alarm, movement sensor

Note! This accessory is connected to the car's electrical system. It requires software unique to the car.

- Turn the ignition switch to position 0.

Note! Wait at least five minutes before disconnecting the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.





- Carefully pry off the cover panel (1) from the headlining with a weatherstrip tool.
The pre-routed connector is attached to the inside of the cover panel.





- Take the sensor with the green connection from the kit.
- Loosen the connector from its position on the inside of the cover panel.
- Press the movement sensor onto the cover panel and ensure that all the fasteners take hold.
- Plug in the connector to the movement sensor.
- Replace the cover panel with the movement sensor in the headlining.
- Program the function with VCT 2000 in VIDA.






Applies to the V50
- Remove the cargo compartment carpet.






Removing the sill trim panel from the tailgate:
- Pry off the four external clips at the front edge/bottom edge of the sill trim panel on the tailgate.
- Pry up one of the corners of the sill trim panel so that the two clips at that end release. Use a weatherstrip tool.
- Pull up the sill trim panel so the remaining six clips release. Remove the panel.
- Detach the rubber strip where it covers the right-hand side panel in the boot opening.






Removing the rear roof panel:
- Grip the edges of the rear roof panel and pull downwards, so that the nine clips release. Pry using a weatherstrip tool, if necessary.

Note! Do not damage the panels.

- Disconnect the connector from the lighting and move the roof panel to one side.





- Fold the seat cushion and backrest on the right-hand side of the rear seat forward.






Removing the side cushion:
- Grip the upper edge of the right-hand side cushion (A). Pull the side cushion backwards so that the clip on the reverse releases.
- Slide the side cushion upwards.

Removing the panel at the front/top of the side panel:
- Remove the screw (B) at the rear edge of the panel at the front/top of the right-hand side panel.
- Pull the panel upwards so that the four clips on the inside release.





- Pull off the rubber strip (A) at the rear of the opening for the right-hand rear door.

Removing the lower panel on the C-post:
- Carefully pry off the lower panel on the C-post (B) on the right-hand side. Carefully pry at the top edge. Use a plastic weatherstrip tool.
- Pull the panel on the C-post so that the two upper clips release. Then continue pulling downwards until the last two clips release.

Removing the upper panel on the C-post:
- Repeat for the panel on the lower C-post (C), but now three clips should release.






Removing the side panel:
- Fold out the load securing eyelets on the right-hand side panel.
- Insert a scriber with an angled tip into the holes in the top of the covers (1). Turn the scriber so that the tip engages the reverse of the cover. Pull the covers off.
- Remove the screws in the load securing eyelets.
- Remove the screw (2) at the front/top edge of the side panel.
- Pull off the side panel at the top so that the two clips at the rear/bottom of the side window and the clip at the bottom of the D-post release.
- Lift out the side panel.






Removing the panel on the D-post:
- Carefully pry off the right-hand panel on the D-post at the lower edge. Use a plastic weatherstrip tool.
- Pull the panel on the D-post forwards so that the two clips on the lower edge release. Continue to pull forwards, until the two clips further up release.
- Unhook the panel on the D-post backwards from the roof panel.

Note! Do not damage the panels.





- Pry up the cover on the attachment over the cargo compartment's right-hand side window and remove the screw beneath.






Removing the rear door's courtesy handle:
- Hold down the courtesy handle over the right-hand rear door. Pry loose the screw cover using a small screwdriver and remove the screws.
- Carefully pull off the handle (some force is required to remove it).

Note! Do not damage the roof panel.

Lowering the roof panel:
- Turn the clip in the centre of the roof panel 90° and pull off.
- Loosen the rubber strip on the top edge of the right-hand rear door.
- Carefully lower the roof panel.

Note! Exercise care so that the roof panel does not break further forward in its fasteners.

- Hang up the roof panel by the rear edge if necessary.






Installing the sensor
1.
Note! Do not damage the roof panel or the rear window washer hose.

- Take the sensor with the blue connection from the kit.
- Loosen the ready routed, taped connector from the roof panel.
- Plug in the connector to the sensor.
- Remove the protective paper from the tape on the sensor.
- Place the sensor in the four recesses in the roof panel, where the blue connector was located. Ensure the senor is straight.

Note! In order for the sensor to work correctly, it must be located within the corner markings and must not be misaligned by more than 5 degrees.

- Hold the underside of the roof panel and push on the sensor.


Reinstall:
- clip in the centre of the roof panel.
- the screws in the attachment above the rear side window. Tighten with 50 Nm (37 lbf.ft.) and push on the cover.
- courtesy handle over the rear door. Tighten the screws with 8 ± 2 Nm (6 ± 1.5 lbf.ft.) and push on the cover.
- side panel and tighten. Tighten the screws on the load securing eyelets with 24 Nm (18 lbf.ft.) and push on the cover.
- panels on the C and D-posts and connect the connector if necessary.
- the rubber strip at the rear edge of the opening for the rear door.
- the panel at the front/top of the side panel.
- side cushion.

- Fold back the backrest and seat cushion on the rear seat.
- Connect the connector for the lighting in the rear roof panel.

Reinstall:
- the rear headlining
- the sill trim panel for the tailgate.
- the rubber strip in the cargo compartment opening.
- cargo compartment carpet (only applies to V50).
