Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-E000

Condition

The control modules transmit and receive information via a standardized serial communication method - CAN (Control Area Network).
The diagnostic trouble code is stored if the control module detects:
- Serious interference on the high speed network (CAN communication blocked).

Note! In the event of system communication problems, it is not possible to communicate with the transmission control module (TCM). Therefore it will only be possible to read off the fault if it is intermittent.

Substitute value
- Auxiliary program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has started.

Hint: Emergency mode in the event of a fault Emergency Mode In the Event of A Fault

- The transmission control module (TCM) switches itself off "bus-off".

Hint: The Transmission control module (TCM) will be off until the power supply has been cut off (15, 30 or X-feed). When the power supply is connected, the Transmission control module (TCM) will make a new attempt to communicate.

Possible source
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals.
- Open-circuit in the control area network (CAN) wiring.
- Short-circuit between the control area network (CAN) wiring.
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).
- Internal fault in another control module in the same part of the control area network (CAN).

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- No gear shift
