Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information

Condition

Shift solenoids S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 operate together to control gear-shifting. The solenoids are controlled by power stages in the transmission control module (TCM). The control module activates the power stages to activate the solenoids and sends voltage through the circuit.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0003, TCM-0009, TCM-0103, TCM-0109 or TCM-010C is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the circuit S1, S2, S3, S4 or S5 receives too low a signal when the solenoid is activated. Which diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored depends on which circuit is faulty.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute value

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0003
- Blocking of gear 1
- Blocking of neutral check
- Blocking of N-D.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0009
- Blocking of gear 1
- Blocking of gear 5.

For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0103
- Emergency program Emergency mode 4 in the transmission control module (TCM) has been initiated.

For diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0109 and TCM-010C
- Emergency program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has been initiated.

Hint: Emergency mode in the event of a fault Emergency Mode In the Event of A Fault

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the signal cable
- The solenoid does not function
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Harsh gear shifting
- No shifting.
