Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-0099

Condition

The transmission control module (TCM) has two different internal memories, one for permanent storage of information (EEPROM) and one for temporary information (FLASH). The information in the temporary memory is saved down to the permanent memory every time the ignition is switched off. The information that is stored includes diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and accompanying data, adaptation and frozen values, etc. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the storage of data to the control module EEPROM is not correctly completed.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.

Substitute value
- The transmission control module (TCM) assumes a base value for adaptation
- Any stored diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) can disappear.

Possible source
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).

Fault symptom[s]
- Vibration and jerking when shifting.
