Signal missing

Checking function of the gear position sensor




- Ignition on
- Read off the Geartronic status by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol
- Depress the brake pedal. Move the gear selector to "M" (manual) position and check that the status changes
- Move the gear selector to + and check that the gear selection is updated in the VIDA display and in the display on the driver information module (DIM)
- Move the gear selector to -. Check that the gear selection is updated.
If the gear selector position is not updated, replace the gear selector module (GSM).

Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.








- Ignition off
- Reinstall the components, reconnect the connectors etc.
- Ignition on
- Depress the brake pedal. Move the gear selector to "M" (Manual) position
- Move the gear selector to + and check that the gear selection is updated in the display on the driver information module (DIM)
- Move the gear selector to -. Check that the gear selection is updated.
