Checking gear-shift position sensor
- Check that the gear selector cable is correctly adjusted. Adjust if necessary
- Ignition on
- Read off the position of the gear selector by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
Shift the gear selector to all gear positions several times. This is to check the function of the gear selector sensor.
The selected position must be the same as that displayed in VIDA.
Note! If the value indicates "Undefined position" in P, R, N or D, the adjustment of the mechanical cable must be checked and the values must be read off again.

Erasing diagnostic trouble code (DTC)
Note! All data belonging to the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) (and all other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)) stored in the transmission control module (TCM) will be erased. If necessary, go to VIDA communication and read off extended diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information before erasing.
- Ignition on
- Erase the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.

Calibrating the position sensor in the control module
- Ignition on
- Place the gear selector lever in neutral position (N).
Activate calibration of the position sensor in the transmission control module (TCM) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
Caution! During calibration, it is important that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) for the gear selector module (GSM) are stored and that the gear selector assembly is otherwise free of faults.

- Ignition off
- Wait two minutes
- Ignition on
- Move the gear selector several times to all gear positions
- Read off the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
If the relevant diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is still stored, replace the transmission control module (TCM).
