Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information TCM-002F
Condition
The automatic transmission checks whether the lock-up solenoid is disengaged or slipping by comparing the speed signal from the transmission output speed sensor with the actual transmission speed (RPM) at the transmission. The signals must then show the same calculated speed (rpm).
The transmission control module (TCM) also compares the speed from the transmission speed sensor with the engine speed (RPM). Rpm should be greater than or less than transmission speed depending on which gear is engaged. If Transmission control module (TCM) detects that speed and rpm signal do not match the calculated values, this means that the lock-up solenoid SLU is slipping or not engaged and the diagnostic trouble code is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed during normal driving.
Substitute value
- Transmission control module (TCM) does not activate the lock-up solenoid.
Possible source
- Lock-up solenoid does not work.
- Poor quality transmission fluid.
- Mechanical fault in the transmission.
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL), on
- No Lock-up function
