Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information
Condition
Shift solenoids S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5 operate together to control gear-shifting. The solenoids are controlled by power stages in the transmission control module (TCM). The control module activates the power stages to activate the solenoids and sends voltage through the circuit. The control module checks the function of the circuit by sending out a control current when the solenoid is not activated.
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0002, TCM-0008, TCM-0102, TCM-0108 or TCM-010B is stored if the transmission control module (TCM) registers that the signal in the circuit for solenoid S1, S2, S3, S4 or S5 is missing when the solenoid is not activated. Which diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored depends on which circuit is faulty.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.
Substitute value
For diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) TCM-0002, TCM-0008, TCM-0108 and TCM-010B
- Emergency program Emergency mode 1 in the transmission control module (TCM) has been initiated.
For diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-0102
- Emergency program Emergency mode 2 in the transmission control module (TCM) has been initiated.
Hint: Emergency mode in the event of a fault Emergency Mode In the Event of A Fault
Possible source
- Contact resistance in the terminals
- Open-circuit in the signal cable
- The shift solenoid does not function
- Short-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable
- Internal fault in the transmission control module (TCM).
Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) lit
- Harsh gear shifting
- No shifting.
