- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Check whether the vehicle is to be equipped with an occupant weight sensor (OWS) or a passenger airbag switch.
Check whether it is possible to read off the serial number for the occupant weight sensor (OWS). If the serial number can be read off, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is programmed that the vehicle must be equipped with an occupant weight sensor (OWS). If the serial number cannot be read off, the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is programmed that the vehicle must be equipped with a passenger airbag switch.
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Read off by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
Remove the faulty equipment.

- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead. Wait 10 seconds.

Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.

Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
