Replacing the component
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
- Unplug the 10-pin connector from the occupant weight sensor (OWS).
- Unplug the 3-pin connector from the pressure sensor.
Check the connectors between the pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) for damaged pins and connections.
Remedy as necessary.
Check the leads between pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) for short-circuiting to voltage/ground and open circuit.
Remedy as necessary.
Caution! Avoid touching the contact pin of the occupant weight sensor (OWS). Risk of electrostatic discharge that may cause damage in occupant weight sensor (OWS).
If no malfunction is found: Replace the pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module. The pressure sensor and occupant weight sensor (OWS) module are included in the occupant weight sensor (OWS) system.
Note! After replacing the pressure sensor and the occupant weight sensor (OWS) module in the occupant weight sensor (OWS) system, calibration of the occupant weight sensor (OWS) must be carried out.
