Checking components and wiring
Note! Check whether diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-012B has also been stored. If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-012B has been stored, fault-tracing must be carried out in accordance with fault-tracing for diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-012B.If diagnostic trouble code (DTC) SRS-012B has not been stored, perform fault-tracing as follows.
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the connector from the occupant weight sensor (OWS)
- Disconnect the 20-pin connector located under the driver's seat
- Disconnect the connectors from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the 20-pin connector and the connectors to the occupant weight sensor (OWS) and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors. Also check the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.
Check that the correct supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is installed in the car.
- Connect the connector to the occupant weight sensor (OWS)
- Connect the 20-pin connector
- Connect the connectors for the supplemental restraint system module (SRS)
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Read off by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If no fault is found, replace the control module.
