Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the passenger seat belt (inertia) reel sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that a signal in the signal cable is too high for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Hint: The seat belt (inertia) reel sensor is installed in the same unit as the seat belt tensioner. To replace the seat belt (inertia) reel sensor, replace the seat belt tensioner.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to the power supply in the signal cable or in the connectors between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the seat belt (inertia) reel sensor.

- General warning lamp lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
