Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the switch to the passenger airbag.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a current outside permitted range in the signal cable for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Substitute value
- Passenger airbag is deactivated.

Possible source
- Open-circuit or contact resistance in the signal cable or the connectors between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the switch for the passenger airbag, in the Off position
- Defective passenger airbag switch
- Short-circuit between the two signal cables connected between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the passenger airbag switch.

Fault symptom[s]
- PAD lamp lit.
