Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the driver's seat position sensor.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the signal is missing or that a current outside the permitted range is detected in the signal cable for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Possible source
- Open-circuit or contact resistance in the signal cable or in the connectors between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the driver's seat position sensor
- Open-circuit in the driver's seat position sensor
- Short-circuit between the two signal cables connected between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the driver's seat position sensor
- Short-circuit in the driver's seat position sensor
- Damaged driver's seat position sensor, resulting in a current value outside the permitted range from the driver's seat position sensor.

Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
