Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the passenger seat belt buckle.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the signal is missing or that a current outside the permitted range is detected in the signal cable for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Possible source
- Open-circuit or contact resistance in the signal cable or in the connectors between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the passenger seat belt buckle
- Open-circuit in the passenger seat belt buckle
- Short-circuit between the two signal cables connected between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the passenger seat belt buckle
- Short-circuit in passenger seat belt buckle
- Damaged passenger seat belt buckle, resulting in a current value outside the permitted range from the seat belt buckle.

Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
