Checking components and wiring
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the connector from the driver's seat belt buckle
- Disconnect the 20-pin connector located under the driver's seat
- Disconnect the connectors from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the 20-pin connector and the connectors to the seat belt buckle and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors. Also check the wiring.
Remedy as necessary.
Check that the correct supplemental restraint system module (SRS) is installed in the car.
- Connect the connector to the driver's seat belt buckle
- Disconnect the 20-pin connector
- Connect the connectors for the supplemental restraint system module (SRS)
- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Read off by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If no fault is found, replace the control module.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead. Wait 10 seconds.
Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.
Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
