Signal too low
Checking the component and wiring
- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the connector from the driver's seat belt buckle
- Disconnect the 20-pin connector located under the driver's seat
- Disconnect the connectors from the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Caution! Do not touch the terminal pins in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). There is a risk of static discharge. This could damage the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).
Check the 20-pin connector and the connectors to the seat belt buckle and the supplemental restraint system module (SRS). Check for damage to pins and terminals in the connectors.
Remedy as necessary.
Connect the 20-pin connector. Check the cable between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the seat belt buckle connector. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Check the cable between:
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #A64 and seat belt buckle connector terminal #1
- Supplemental restraint system module (SRS) terminal #A65 and seat belt buckle connector terminal #2.
Remedy as necessary.

- Switch on the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.
Check the current passing through the Hall sensor in the seat belt buckle. Check the current level when the seat belt buckle is locked and unlocked. When the seat belt buckle is not locked, the current level must be in the range 2.0 mA-5.0 mA. When the seat belt buckle is locked, the current level must be in the range 12.0 mA-17.0 mA.
Read off the current level by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
Replace the seat belt buckle if the current level is outside the interval indicated above.
Remedy as necessary.
