Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the adaptive seat belt force limiter for the passenger.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers that the resistance in the ignition cable is too low for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

Hint: The adaptive seat belt force limiter is installed in the same unit as the seat belt tensioner. To replace the adaptive seat belt force limiter, replace the seat belt tensioner.

- None.

Possible source
- Short-circuit between the two ignition cables or in the connector terminals that connect between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the adaptive seat belt strength limiter for the passenger
- Short-circuit in the adaptive seat belt force limiter for the passenger (resistance too low in the igniter section).

Fault symptom[s]
- General warning lamp lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
