Condition




The supplemental restraint system module (SRS) checks the signal from the adaptive steering column.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module registers a short-circuit in the ignition cable for the steering column to an adjacent ignition cable for longer than 2.5 seconds.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I, II or III.

- None.

Possible source
- Short-circuit in the ignition cable between the supplemental restraint system module (SRS) and the adaptive steering column to one of the other ignition cables connected to a collision protection system, such as an inflatable curtain, side impact airbag, seat belt tensioner, passenger air and driver airbag.

Hint: This fault can only occur if there is a short-circuit between at least two ignition cables from different collision protection systems and/or ignition stages. Check which collision protection/ignition stage has this fault type.

Fault symptom[s]
- The SRS indicator lamp is lit
- SRS warning message displayed.
