Note! Check whether the following diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored: SRS-0002, SRS-0004, SRS-009A, SRS-0129.If all these diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) have been stored and the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are intermittent, erase the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the supplemental restraint system module (SRS).If any of these diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) has not been stored, perform fault-tracing as follows.




- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds.

Caution! Avoid touching the pins in the control module and the corresponding connector on the cable harness. There is a risk of static discharge which could damage the control module.

Check the control area network (CAN). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit.
If no fault is found in the control area network (CAN), continue fault-tracing from the driver information module (DIM).
If the malfunction has been generated when the ignition has been turned on without the vehicle having registered an approved key, make sure that an approved key is used now. Then select "Continue".
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After carrying out the repair check that the fault has been remedied.




- Switch off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds
- Disconnect the battery negative lead
- Reinstall the connectors, components etc.
- Ignition on
- Connect the battery negative lead. Wait 10 seconds.

Warning! There must not be anyone inside the passenger compartment when the battery is connected.

Read diagnostic trouble codes by clicking the VCT2000 symbol.
If the fault is intermittent, the fault has been remedied.
