Faulty Signal






Faulty signal

Checking the component




- Ignition on.
If the malfunction is intermittent, it means that the malfunction has been registered at an earlier time but the malfunction no longer remains. Intermittent faults can occur for a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
Check that the power seat module, right (PSR) is receiving the signal from the hall sensor. Operate the relevant seat motor. Check whether the value counts upwards and downwards as the seat is moved in each direction.
The value shall be counted up or down depending on seat movement.
Read off the value by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.









Is the function OK?

Yes - FAULT FOUND

No - Checking the wiring and component

Check the cable between power seat module, right (PSR) terminal #B10 (#52) and hall sensor 1. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.
Check the cable between power seat module, right (PSR) terminal #B14 (#56) and hall sensor 1. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage. Check for a short-circuit to ground. Check for an open-circuit.

Hint: The hall sensor shall generate a pulsed signal.

Remedy as necessary.
