Faulty Signal
Faulty signal
Checking the component
- Ignition on.
If the malfunction is intermittent, it means that the malfunction has been registered at an earlier time but the malfunction no longer remains. Intermittent faults can occur for a number of different reasons. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
Check that Power Seat Module, Left (PSL) receives the signal from the hall sensor. Operate the relevant seat motor. Check whether the value counts upwards and downwards as the seat is moved in each direction.
The value shall be counted up or down depending on seat movement.
Read off the value by clicking on the VCT2000 symbol.
Is the function OK?
Yes - FAULT FOUND
No - Checking the wiring and component

Checking the wiring and component
Check the cable between power seat module, left (PSL) #B12 (#54) and hall sensor 2 for open circuit, short-circuit to ground and short-circuit to voltage.
Check the cable between power seat module, left (PSL) #B8 (#50) and hall sensor 2 for open circuit, short-circuit to ground and short-circuit to voltage.
Hint: The hall sensor shall generate a pulsed signal.
Remedy as necessary.
