Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information HCM-8F41
Condition
Headlamp Control Module (HCM) supplies voltage to the position sensors.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- Direct current (DC) is too low.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- Activated control module.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Substitute value
- Limited functionality in the Headlamp Control Module (HCM) (Limp-home).
Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground in the power supply cable.
- Open-circuit in the power supply cable.
Fault symptom[s]
- Text window and warning symbol/Text message
- Headlights/Headlight aim is off
- Headlights/Vertical adjustment not influenced by steering wheel
