Note! The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be stored as a consequence of other faults. Check therefore if any other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored for the engine control module (ECM). Remedy these first.

The engine control module (ECM) has registered an internal fault.
If the fault is intermittent, it has been registered previously but is no longer present. Intermittent faults can be caused by interference at start up of the engine control module (ECM) or may be a different type of fault which occurs on different occasions. The fault is evaluated depending on how it occurs.
