Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-92CC
Condition
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the engine control module (ECM) detects that the basic conditions for adaptation are not met when trying to adapt the electronic throttle unit. If other diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are stored, these must be remedied first. These may have caused the adaptation to fail.
Substitute value
- Adaptation is cancelled.
The following only takes place if a new engine control module (ECM) has been installed in a car that has never previously adapted the electronic throttle unit:
- The engine control module (ECM) shuts down the supply to the damper motor for the electronic throttle unit. The throttle will set itself to the return position
- The engine control module (ECM) uses reversible fuel shut-off.
Possible source
Adaptation of the throttle unit is cancelled because one of the following basic requirements has not been met:
1. Ignition on / engine off
2. The battery voltage must be over 10 V
3. Accelerator pedal (AP) unaffected
4. The vehicle must be stationary (no vehicle speed signal)
5. Engine coolant temperature (ECT) between 5-100 °C
6. Intake air temperature (IAT) above 5 °C.
- The throttle is sticking or is blocked (e.g. oil film, dust)
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals between the engine control module (ECM) and the electronic throttle unit
- Damaged throttle unit.
Fault symptom[s]
- Poor performance.
