Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-843B
Condition
The engine control module (ECM) checks the signal from the starter motor relay via the ground cable.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that:
- No or faulty signal.
The control module's test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of:
- After start.
Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.

- None.
Possible source
- Open circuit on the ground cable between the engine control module (ECM) and starter relay.
- Internal fault in the stater relay.
