Hint: After carrying out the repair, check that the fault has been remedied.
- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Start the engine and allow it to idle for approx. 1 minute.
Increase the engine speed to approx. 4000 rpm a few times.
- Read the diagnostic status and fault status for the diagnostic trouble code by selecting the diagnostic trouble code in the list.
Hint: When the scan status does not change to "Implemented", a test drive is necessary for the scan to be implemented.
- Test drive the vehicle at a constant speed of about 80 kph for at least 5 minutes.
- Release the accelerator quickly, at least three times, to produce fuel shut-off.
- Perform heavy braking at least once.
- Connect VCT2000 to the data link connector without switching off the engine.
Note! If the engine is switched off, the stored fault status will be erased and the test drive will have to be repeated.
Check the fault status for the diagnostic trouble code when the scan is "Implemented". When the function is correct the fault status should be "No fault found" when the scan is implemented.
