Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information ECM-133C
Condition
Engine Control Module (ECM) checks the signal for inlet temperature at start. This is done by the control module saving the values from inlet, fuel and engine temperature sensors at the moment of start. Then the control module compares the values. If the signal from the air temperature sensor matches a temperature that exceeds a certain limit in relation to the other, the control module interprets this as a malfunction and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is generated.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed after approx. 10 minutes with the engine running.
Substitute value
- Value from the outdoor temperature sensor is used.
Possible source
- Damaged intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor terminals.
Fault symptom[s]
- Malfunction indicator light (MIL), on
- Engine is difficult to start
