Checking switches and wiring
- Ignition off.
- Remove the Light switch module (LSM).
Hint: For information about fuse and terminal numbers, see the relevant Wiring Diagram.
Check the connection between Light switch module (LSM) terminal #A2 and Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #A34 (#34). Check for an open-circuit. Check for a short-circuit to supply voltage.
Check the connection between Light switch module (LSM) terminal #A11 and ground. Check for an open-circuit and short-circuit to supply voltage.
Take a reading in the connector for the light switch module (LSM) between terminals #A2 and #A11. Use an ohmmeter.
The resistance must be infinite when the switch for opening the fuel tank filler cap is not depressed.
The resistance must be 0 ohm when the switch for opening the fuel tank filler cover is depressed.
If the switch for opening the fuel tank filler cover is not functioning, replace the light switch module (LSM).
Hint: Use terminal pins to take readings in the connector. Do not damage the terminals in the connector.
Remedy the cables as necessary.

Fault-tracing information
If no fault is discovered, this indicates that the control module has previously registered a fault, but that the fault is no longer present. The fault is intermittent. No further fault-tracing is required.
The fact that the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) has been stored might also be the result of the button having been depressed for too long.
