Checking the status
- Ignition on.
Activate the seat belt reminder.
Check if the fault is permanent or intermittent.
The seat belt reminder is lit on activation.
The fault is permanent if the seat belt reminder does not activate.
If the seat belt reminder is activated, this is an indication that the fault was present previously but that it is not active at the moment, i.e. the fault is intermittent.

Checking the component and wiring
Check the voltage on the roof lamp connector terminal #4 to the output on the central electronic module (CEM). The voltage must be approximately 12 V when the seat belt reminder is activated.
Check the control signal cable. Check for a short-circuit to ground.
Take readings between:
- Central electronic module (CEM) terminal #H1 (#15) and roof lamp connector terminal #4.
Remedy as necessary.

- Ignition on.
Click the VCT2000 symbol to activate and deactivate the lamp, seat belt reminder.
Check that the function is OK.
