Condition




The central electronic module (CEM) checks the function of the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) in the driver information module (DIM) when the ignition key is turned from position 0 to position I or II. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) must light for a short time when the ignition is switched on and then go out.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the central electronic module (CEM) registers that the signal is too low or that there is no signal.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed in ignition positions I or II.

Substitute value
- None.

Possible source
- Open-circuit in the cable for the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL)
- Short-circuit to ground in the cable to the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL).
- Damaged fuse.

Fault symptom[s]
- The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) does not light.
