Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-0138
Condition
Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) applies only to brake systems with dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC).
The body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) is supplied with 12 V.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the brake control module (BCM) registers that the power supply to the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) is too high or too low when then brake control module (BCM) is switched on.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.
Substitute value
- Traction Control is blocked
- Stability Control is blocked
- Active yaw control is blocked.
Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Possible source
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the terminals or connections
- Short-circuit to ground or to supply voltage in the power supply wiring for the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC)
- Internal fault in the brake control module (BCM)
- Internal fault in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC).
Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- Traction control does not function
- The stability control system does not function.
