Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information

Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-0108

Condition

Note! The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) applies only to cars with dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC).

The steering wheel module (SWM) is initiated by turning the steering wheel in any direction. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the brake control module (BCM) registers that the steering wheel module (SWM) has not been initiated within 120 seconds at a speed continuously above 10 km/h, or if a speed above 100 km/h has been achieved and the ignition has subsequently been switched off. In this case, diagnostic trouble code (DTC) BCM-0108 will be stored together with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) BCM-A030.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may also be stored if information from the steering wheel angle sensor indicates that the sensor has been initiated and has not subsequently been initiated for 120 seconds. In this case, the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) must be stored alone.

Substitute value
- Active yaw control is blocked.

Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations

Possible source
- After starting, the driver has, without the steering wheel sensor being initiated, driven continuously for more than two minutes at above 10 km/h or above 100 km/h and has then switched off the ignition
- Internal fault in the steering wheel module (SWM).

Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- The stability control system does not function.
