Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Information
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) information BCM-0091
Condition
Note! The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) applies only to cars with all-wheel drive (AWD) and dynamic stability and traction control (DSTC).
The accelerometer is integrated in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) for DSTC (dynamic stability and traction control). The sensor transmits information to the brake control module (BCM) indicating the rate of the forward acceleration of the car via the control area network (CAN).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if a body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) for a car with 2WD has been installed in a car with AWD or if the control module registers an incorrect signal from the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.
Substitute value
- Traction Control is blocked
- Stability Control is blocked
- Active yaw control is blocked.
Hint: Brake system, abbreviations Brake System, Abbreviations
Possible source
- 2WD body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC) installed in an AWD car
- Internal fault in the body sensor cluster stability sensor (BSC).
Note! This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is not due to an internal hardware fault in the Brake control module (BCM) and must not be remedied by replacing the control module.
Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- Traction control does not function
- The stability control system does not function.
