Condition




For cars with DSTC:
The internal brake pressure sensor and the pedal position sensor have the same power supply inside the brake control module (BCM).
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that the voltage to the sensors is incorrect.
For other cars:
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that the voltage to the pedal position sensor is incorrect.
The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed while the ignition is switched on.

Substitute value
For vehicles with DSTC
- Stability Control is blocked
- Traction Control is blocked
- Active yaw control is blocked.
For vehicles with ABS, STC
- None.
For vehicles equipped with TRACS
- Traction Control on the rear wheels is blocked.

Possible source
- Short-circuit to ground or supply voltage in the wiring for the pedal position sensor
- The pedal position sensor is not working
- The brake control module (BCM) is not working.

Fault symptom[s]
- The information lamp is lit
- Traction control is not functioning
- Stability control is not functioning.
