Note! This fault tracing only applies to vehicles with the function for remote controlled immobilising.Is DTC CEM-U049900 stored? Fault trace this diagnostic DTC first.

Hint: Function for remote controlled immobilising is only available on certain markets and only in combination with Volvo On Call.

If the vehicle cannot be started, the cause may be that the vehicle has been remote-immobilized via Volvo On Call Service Center. The vehicle may also have been remotely immobilised if the Central electronic module (CEM) identified problems with the components used for the function.
To read out the status for remote controlled immobilising,
DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/Advanced/Remote controlled immobilising, status
The following options are available:
- Vehicle immobilised by remote control.
- Vehicle mobilised by remote control.
- Vehicle mobilised by remote control but remote controlled immobilising continues.
If the vehicle is remotely immobilised, the cause can be read out,
DIAGNOSTICS/VEHICLE COMMUNICATION/Advanced/Remote controlled immobilising, cause.
The following options are available:
- Vehicle remotely immobilised by Volvo On Call Service Center.
- No or incorrect communication between the Phone module (PHM) and Central electronic module (CEM).
- Vehicle remotely immobilised by VIDA.
To cancel a remote-controlled immobilization, Volvo On Call Service Center has to remobilize the vehicle.
Remedy as necessary.
