Fault-tracing information
The Central electronic module (CEM) regularly transmits information about the vehicle's current configuration on the CAN network. The control module compares the actual vehicle configuration with what it is configured for itself. The DTC is generated if the information from the Central electronic module (CEM) is missing. These indicates contact resistance, oxidation, open-circuit or loose connection in the connections to the CAN network. Therefore, first fault trace the Central electronic module (CEM).

Hint: The control module automatically erases DTCs when it receives a message about the vehicle configuration from the Central electronic module (CEM).
