Removing The Transmission






Replacing the gearbox

Special tools:
999 7077 Jimmy bar 999 7077 Jimmy Bar
999 7185 Wrench 999 7185 Wrench

Removal

Remove the bevel gear. See: Bevel gear, replacing, TF-80SC AWD Bevel Gear, Replacing





Lower the left-hand lifting beam 60 mm.

Hint: Lower the lifting beam slowly when the end of the threaded joint is visible in the inspection hole.






Remove:
- the ground lead
- connection for transmission control module (TCM)
- the transmission cable. Use 999 7077 Jimmy bar 999 7077 Jimmy Bar
- both connections for the starter motor.












Hint: To prevent leakage, install a plastic plug in the lower hole of the transmission.











x 6.





Turn the next screw forward.




































Warning! Ensure that the torque converter accompanies the transmission and that it does not slide off the stator shaft. Using a screwdriver, press through some of the screw holes.

Installation

Note! For tightening torques, see: Tightening torque Mechanical Specifications.

Installing the transmission

Use: 999 7185 Wrench 999 7185 Wrench for the upper screw.

Install 6 x M10/Torx 50. First lightly tighten all screws.
Tighten, see: Tightening torque Mechanical Specifications.

Note! Use new screws.





Turn the next screw forward.

Install:
- the ground lead, M8
- connection for transmission control module (TCM)
- the transmission cable
- the starter motor, blade terminal and B+. Tighten See Tightening torque [1][2]Specifications.





Raise the left-hand lifting beam 60 mm.

Install the bevel gear.


Note! This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
