Replacing the pinion seal for the bevel gear

Special tools:
999 5893 Puller 999 5893 Puller
999 5069 EXTRACTOR 999 5069 Extractor
999 5653 Punch 999 5653 Punch
999 5504 PRESS TOOL, DRIVE FLANGE 999 5504 Press Tool, Drive Flange

Removal

Note! Move the gear shift lever to the P-position.










Note! Mark the position of the flange against the propeller shaft.





Note! Mark the position of the flange against the pinion shaft end.




Use 999 5893 Puller 999 5893 Puller.





Note! Place a container under the bevel gear.

Use: 999 5069 EXTRACTOR 999 5069 Extractor.

Installation





Use: 999 5653 Punch 999 5653 Punch , the end marked 1155. Also use: 999 5504 PRESS TOOL, DRIVE FLANGE 999 5504 Press Tool, Drive Flange.





Caution! There must be no axial play.

Install the flange according to the previous marking. If necessary use: 999 5504 PRESS TOOL, DRIVE FLANGE 999 5504 Press Tool, Drive Flange.
Install a new lubricated nut. Tighten. See: Tightening torque Mechanical Specifications.




Check the fluid level in the bevel gear. Lubricate.




Install the propeller shaft according to the previous mark. Use new screws. Tighten. See: Tightening torque Mechanical Specifications.





Note! To ensure that there is no exhaust leakage, see: Flanged joint, assembling Removal and Replacement.

Tighten. See: Tightening torque, B8444S Tightening Torque.
