INTRODUCTION

Preparations

Note! When affixing the velcro tape, the surface and tape must be at a temperature of at least +20° C (68° F).





- Carefully pry off the cover panel at the bottom edge of the B-post panel so that it releases from the sill trim panel.





- Slide the driver's seat all the way back and then move the front edge all the way up.
- Turn the ignition key to position 0.

Note! Wait at least three minutes before unplugging the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.





- Pry loose the sill molding at the front edge and then pull straight up.
- Angle the sill molding out from the B-post panel.





- Lower the steering wheel to its lowest position and then move it rearward to its rearmost position.
- Remove the two screws at the top edge of the combined instrument panel border.
- Carefully use a weatherstrip tool to pry loose the rubber seal from the upper steering wheel cover. It is held in place with five clips.
- Remove the border by carefully pulling it rearward - first at the bottom edge and then at the top edge - until all clips have released.





- Remove the four screws for the combined instrument panel.
- Pull out the combined instrument panel. Disconnect the connector on the reverse of the combined instrument panel.

Installing the antenna





- Remove the antenna from the kit. Remove the clip.





- Clean the smooth side of the antenna with isopropanol.





- Take the velcro tape and cut it in the middle.
- Press the cut pieces into one another.





- Remove the backing film and press the tape into place on the antenna.





- Clean the top of the cable harness duct with isopropanol.





- Raise up the air duct slightly so that the antenna can be fitted. Remove the backing film and position the antenna. Press hard so that the tape fastens. The antenna is to be positioned edge to edge against the cable harness duct.





- Pry off the rear edge of the panel on the left-hand end of the dashboard. Twist out the panel. Remove the panel.





- Remove the sealing strip at the dashboard.





- Take the antenna cable and the end with the gray connector. Insert the cable through the opening (1) and route it along the bottom edge of the fuse holder. Route the cable through the top edge of the fuse holder (2) and on up to the installed antenna. Hide the cable behind the fuse holder.





- Plug the connector into the antenna.
- Fasten the antenna cable to the existing cable harness using a cable tie.





- Remove the four screws and lift forward the multimedia module (MMM).

Note! Cars that do not have a navigation system have a global positioning system (GPS) instead. It is installed under a protective plate.Remove the protective plate and carry out the corresponding procedure on the GPS unit as for the multimedia module (MMM) in steps 16-18.





- Guide the antenna cable in under the seat at the seam of the floor carpeting.





- Unplug the antenna cable's blue connector from the module (MMM).
- Plug in the routed cable.
- Fasten the unplugged connector to the routed cable using a cable tie. Reposition the control module.





- Position the antenna cable between the sill and the floor carpeting.





- Fasten the antenna cable and any excess length at the two cable duct holders.

Reinstall:
- multimedia module (MMM)
- the sealing strip
- the sill trim panel
- the cover panel at the B-post
- the end face panel
- the combined instrument panel and its border.
