Troubleshooting ECM-P242000

Checking the status




- Ignition on
Check if the malfunction is permanent or intermittent by opening and closing the valve in the leakage diagnostics unit. Listen for a clicking sound when the valve opens/closes.
If the valve is not heard, this indicates a permanent malfunction. If the valve can be heard, this indicates that the malfunction is intermittent and not active right now.

Checking component and cables
Check the leakage diagnostics unit's connector for contact resistance and oxidation.
Check the valve's resistance between the leakage diagnostics unit's connector #3 and #4.
Check the cable between engine control module (ECM) #B48 (#C48) and the leakage diagnostics unit #2 for short-circuit to voltage.
Remedy as necessary.

Hint: After repairing, it is necessary to check that the malfunction has been fixed.








- Ignition off
- Reconnect the connectors, components, etc.
- Ignition on
- Start activation of the valve in the leakage diagnostics unit.
Listen for a clicking sound when the valve opens/closes.
