CSC = Customer Symptom Code

DESCRIPTION:

If a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is posted in the ECM (engine control module) the DIM (driver's information module) message "SOOT FILTER FULL SEE MANUAL" may be shown even though the car does not have a soot filter. This is due to a software bug in the ECM.

This message will not inhibit the OBD II (on board diagnostic) system from illuminating the check engine light nor monitoring detecting and subsequently storing a corresponding DTC in system memory.

PRODUCT MODIFICATION: New ECM software.

SERVICE: Perform ECM upgrade.
