DESCRIPTION:
This journal describes how to remove and prevent water from entering the bulkhead.
When driving around a corner/round about, a water flush noise may become audible.
Because of an inaccurate arc welding (a small hole in an overlap area), water that run down from the windscreen, may enter the bulkhead area.
PRODUCT MODIFICATION:
Arc Welding Process optimizations have been introduced from the chassis number's in the header.
This brings the production condition in line with the service fix.
The chassis number range in the header has been adapted!!
SERVICE:
- Seal of the (welding) area where the windscreen frame and A pillar connect.
- Remove front bumper + wheel arch liner.
- Drill a hole to drain the water from the bulkhead at both sides (see attachment).
- Apply surface treatment as instructed in the attachment.
- Re-install the wheel liner and front bumper.
Read the attached repair instruction for the details!
