Checking battery charging for external iPOD-units

Accessory USB unit (AUU) has the function of acting as interface between the vehicle's infotainment system and external USB- and iPod-units. Since new generations of iPOD use 5 V-charging, instead of 12V-charging, it is not possible to charge the iPOD-battery using the original cable intended for iPOD-units. The iPOD-battery can be charged using the USB-outlet, but then Accessory USB unit (AUU) does not handle playback of media stored on the external iPOD-unit.

Fault symptom
- USB unit/Does not work
- Audio other/Other audio problems

Check:
- What charging applies to the external iPOD-unit.
- If there is an adapter kit available with a voltage converter from 12 V to 5 V.
